Petitions and records of naturalization, 1851-1906.

The petitions contain personal data that individuals have met the residency requirement, along with a reference to the court where and date when the declaration was filed. Also included are depositions from two citizens testifying to the applicant's residence, moral character and behavior and adherence to the principles of the Constitution of the United States. Completing the petition are the applicant's signed oath of allegiance to the United States and the dated court order admitting him as a citizen.
